The Neal Family | Playful Family Photos at the Lake in Little Elm

Some sessions just feel like summer magic, and the Neal Family's shoot in Little Elm was exactly that. With three boys we knew the best approach would be to embrace the chaos—in the most joyful way possible.

As a family photographer in the DFW area, I’m always on the lookout for natural spaces that let kids explore while giving parents a chance to breathe. This hidden lakeside spot in Little Elm offered the perfect mix of open space, shimmering water, and soft morning light.

While the boys skipped rocks and splashed at the water’s edge, I took the opportunity to capture something really special—tender, quiet moments between Mom and Dad. With the lake behind them and their kids happily playing nearby, it was a beautiful reminder that love and connection don’t stop when kids come along. In fact, those moments become even more meaningful.

We wrapped the session with the sun rising over the horizon and laughter echoing across the lake. These are the kinds of sessions I love—where kids are free to be themselves, and parents get to feel seen too.
