The Knibbs Family Session at Heritage Park | Flower Mound Family Photographer
This past November, I had the joy of photographing the Knibbs family on a crisp, sunny afternoon at Heritage Park in Flower Mound. The air was chilly, but the laughter and connection this family shared kept everything feeling warm.
The Knibbs are a beautifully blended family of six, and this session was extra special—big brother was home on leave from the Army, and the family wanted to make sure they captured this precious time together. Their kids range in age from 14 to 22, and while most people associate family photos with younger children, I can’t stress enough how meaningful sessions like this are—even (and especially) when your kids are older.
We explored the park together, taking in the vibrant fall colors and soaking up every ounce of sunshine. There were piggyback rides, lots of laughter, and truly genuine moments that reminded me why I love what I do. Their youngest, who uses a wheelchair, was right in the mix—smiling, laughing, and had an easy time navigating the paved pathways of Heritage Park. Making sure a location is accessible to EVERYONE is a high-priority of mine which is why we chose this specific Flower Mound park.
Photographing families with older kids is such a treat. The energy is different—more relaxed, more playful in a grown-up way—but the love is still just as strong. These are the photos that will hang on walls and get pulled out for graduation parties, military send-offs, and wedding slideshows someday.
To the Knibbs family—thank you for letting me be part of this moment. Your joy is contagious, and your bond is a beautiful thing to witness.
