A Rainy Day, A Cozy House, and 20 Magical Sessions with Santa: Vintage Holiday Minis 2024

This past December, I hosted 20 back-to-back vintage holiday mini sessions at the beautifully restored Beverly-Harris House in downtown McKinney, Texas. If you’ve ever visited this charming Victorian gem, you know it’s the perfect backdrop for timeless Christmas photos — and this year, it proved to be the perfect cozy escape from some seriously rainy weather!

Inside the Magic

Each session was 15 minutes long, filled with laughter, twinkling eyes, vintage details, and one very special guest. That’s right — Santa himself made a surprise appearance during each session! Just a few magical minutes with the Big Guy brought huge smiles, squeals of joy, and even a few shy snuggles. It was just enough time for each child to whisper a wish in his ear and leave feeling full of wonder.

Because we shot indoors, there were no worries about rescheduling due to the rain — which turned out to be a blessing in disguise. The cozy, glowing light and vintage décor of the Beverly-Harris House created an even more intimate and heartwarming experience. Families came dressed to impress: from traditional tartan to retro velvet and lace, every session felt like stepping into a nostalgic holiday postcard.

Capturing Connection and Giving Back

These minis weren’t just about beautiful portraits — they were about giving back, too. 15% of all proceeds went to One Wish, a local charity that helps make meaningful wishes come true for families and children in need. It was such an honor to support this mission during the season of giving.

Every session reminded me of why I do what I do — capturing joy, preserving memories, and celebrating the beauty of family.
