Sailing into Summer: A Dreamy Sailboat Photo Shoot on Lake Lewisville

Before I headed off on maternity leave, I wanted to create some fresh, summer-inspired content — and what better way than a sailing photo shoot on beautiful Lake Lewisville? This session was such a joy to capture, blending the relaxed vibe of summer with stunning sailboat photos that truly tell a story.

A big thank you to my friend Glenn, a fellow member of the Lewisville Chamber of Commerce, who owns the 30-foot sailboat Hakuna Matata. Glenn keeps this gem docked at the Dallas Corinthian Yacht Club out in Little Elm, making it the perfect backdrop for a laid-back, yet elegant, sailing photo shoot.

Joining me for this sunset adventure were my friend Lois, her boyfriend Seth, and their friends Nef and Alexis. The group dressed to impress in nautical-inspired outfits that perfectly matched the vibe of the day. We set sail on a random Wednesday evening, popping champagne and sharing a small charcuterie board as we cruised the lake, laughter and good times filling the air.

As a DFW photographer, capturing moments like these — couples photos and group shots on a sailboat — is especially rewarding. There’s something magical about the combination of natural light, water reflections, and the gentle sway of the boat that brings out genuine smiles and connection.

The highlight? Sailing right into the sunset. The golden hour cast a cinematic glow over Lake Lewisville, creating sailboat photos that feel both timeless and vibrant.

If you’re looking for a unique way to capture couples photos or a special occasion in the DFW area, a sailing photo shoot on Lake Lewisville might just be your perfect fit. It’s fun, relaxed, and absolutely unforgettable.

Thanks again to Glenn, Lois, Seth, Nef, and Alexis for making this shoot such a memorable experience. Here’s to summer, sunsets, and sailing adventures!
